Potential risks to women and babies. Scientific evidence shows that a baby’s and mother’s health can be affected if the mother does not breastfeed until her baby is at least 12 months old. If a mother’s working conditions stop her from breastfeeding successfully, it could be argued that this is putting both her health and her baby’s health at risk.
