The test should be done as near the middle of the room as possible.
The thermometer should be at a working height from the floor (eg on a desk).
It should be a good thermometer (The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 require them to be provided for employees' use).
The thermometer should be given enough time to accurately register the temperature (eg 5 mins if it has come from another area)
Although there are four columns for readings all four need not be done. It is important that two are completed, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
