UPPER PAY PROGRESSION
I am writing following a number of requests for local guidance about the criteria for Upper Pay Progression 3. While we acknowledge that this process is coming to a close, previous guidance had been provided through School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document. This requires that all staff that have been on UPS2 since 2002 should be assessed by the Headteacher, as part of the teachers annual pay review and not through an application form, to consider progression by the end of the Autumn Term.

We acknowledge that UPS3 in Bradford presents Headteachers with considerable challenges. We nevertheless hope that this guidance will aid decision making and consistency.
